Once again we talked about the situation of football in the state of Rio de Janeiro, where the return of the public to the stadiums was confirmed as of July 10th. Well, the information was made public on the last night of Friday, where the State Official Gazette announced that the stadiums could receive about a third of the capacity containing the 4m² distance margin per person.
The initial plan was to release the capacity mentioned for the 2nd of July, however, some changes in the reopening had to be made and ended up extending to the 10th of July.
Following this logic, for example, at the Maracanã stadium, the amount of 1/3 would be about 22 thousand fans at the stadium. At the São Januário stadium, this number drops to 7 thousand, while at Nilton Santos this number goes to 14 thousand fans.
The information in the Official Gazette is still a little vague, as it does not say about how ticket sales / exchanges will be, nor about the control over the suggested distance.
"OPEN WITH RESTRICTIONS: Sports training centers open for training, without public, being prohibited the use of sauna, pool and hot tub. Sports competitions with a maximum simultaneous capacity of 1/3, without exceeding the rule of 4m² per person. Ticket sales only online or self-service boxes. Leisure and sport activities in swimming pools, the sharing of objects is prohibited. Clubs, associations, racecourses, rental courts and open counterparts, prohibited contact sports. Training schools remain closed. Events in closed spaces are still prohibited."
As long as there is no clear protocol on the agenda in question, it is known that the use of masks and the respect of social distance will be totally mandatory, giving a caveat that there will be no temperature measurement applied to the fans in question.
With this, perhaps the Campeonato Carioca could be the entry point for the public to attend the Rio Cup competition that will be held on July 12th.
For August, the forecast is to open the stadium to a larger number of people, going from 1/3 to 2/3 allowed. However, this will be the next phase to be discussed. And, finally, for the 16th of August the city does not intend to have any more restrictions regarding the limited access of fans in the stadiums.
